People say that if you can write, write. You know how. Your teachers taught you the letters, the sounds; authors shared with you words, ideas. So write.
It's not that easy.
You must choose to write. You cannot force yourself. Lift the pencil, turn on the computer, open your mind. Writing requires ingredients. Essential ingredients.
Inspiration. Time. A place. Freedom.
How do you find your inspiration? Is it emotions or events? Is it more people or just you and your thoughts?
I create time at the end of the day and before the day begins. I sit at my desk, at my keyboard, and I let it flow. Without judgment. Words spill.
Then I leave my words, thoughts, emotions that have plummeted onto the page, the screen in random formation. I close my writing mind and give these ideas the Freedom to come together, evolve or die.
I come back the next day, and I begin again.
